LED EDISON LIGHT BULB

IN 2014, IN AN EFFORT TO SAVE POWER, THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT PUT A BAN ON THE PRODUCTION OF SPECIFIC INCANDESCENT LIGHT BULBS. ALTHOUGH IN FAVOR OF SAVING ENERGY – THE DESIGN INDUSTRY WORRIED “WILL THERE BE ATTRACTIVE SUBSTITUTES” ? LUCKILY THE BAN WAS POSITIVE. MANUFACTURERS WERE FORCED INTO CHANGE.  THE UNATTRACTIVE “TWIRLY” FLORESCENT BULB LOOKS PRIMITIVE ASIDE NEW DIMMABLE LED ALTERNATIVES (THAT CAST A WARM GLOW!). IVORY DESIGN COMPANY IS MOST EXCITED ABOUT A LED VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL THOMAS EDISON FILAMENT BULB (AS SHOWN IN PHOTO – FOUND ON ETSY ). THOSE OF YOU WITH CLEAR GLASS LIGHT FIXTURES OR INDUSTRIAL CAGE LIGHTING NOW HAVE AN ENERGY EFFICIENT YET STYLISH OPTION ; YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!

FURNITURE SELECTIONS AND COLLAGE BY IVORY DESIGN COMPANY

IVORY DESIGN COMPANY - THE NAME, INSPIRATION & SOME DESIGN HISTORY

The Name Ivory Design Company was inspired by the beauty of natural objects - almost void of colour - but precious in their form, luster and ability to reflect light. A collection of organic materials sits in a bowl by Hungarian Industrial Designer Eva Zeisel. Eva and her award winning work also serve as inspiration. Her ivory colored ceramics in undulating shapes are effortless pieces of art; decades ahead of their time. Eva’s work ethic and success allowed her to create and design right up to her passing of 105 years of age (three years ago to this day - Dec.30th 2011). Her work is still being produced and new designs have been released since her passing – inspirational!
